Valley Health is pleased to offer an array of primary care services. By definition, primary care, also known as family medicine, is the day-to-day care given by a health care provider. A primary care provider typically acts as the first contact and principal point of continuing care for patients, coordinating other specialty care that the patient may need.

Patients may see several qualified providers for their care including primary care physicians also known as general practitioners or family physicians, a nurse practitioner who usually will have additional training in family medicine, or a physician assistant. If needed, these providers may also collaborate with other health professionals, typically specialists, for consultation and may refer you to them if necessary.
