Valley Health is honored to announce that the Heart & Vascular Center at Winchester Medical Center (WMC) will be renamed the Clyde A. Smith Heart & Vascular Center. This renaming is in recognition of a generous donation made as part of Valley Health’s Stronger Together capital campaign.
The official announcement and dedication ceremony took place on November 24, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center. This event celebrated the significant contribution and honors the legacy of Clyde A. Smith, founder of Valley Proteins, whose life was impacted by heart disease.
“We are deeply grateful for this transformational gift,” said Jenny Grooms, Executive Director, Valley Health Foundations. “This level of investment by the Smith family will further enhance the center’s capabilities in providing exceptional cardiovascular care. The Clyde A. Smith Heart & Vascular Center will continue to uphold our commitment to excellence in heart and vascular services, ensuring that our community receives the highest quality of care, close to home.”
The Stronger Together capital campaign aims to strengthen Valley Health’s facilities and services, expanding care and services to meet community needs. Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death nationally and is a prominent focus of the Stronger Together campaign, whose goal is to add additional technology, space and access for those needing heart care. The renaming of the Heart & Vascular Center marks a significant milestone in this ongoing effort.
