Valley Health’s Telemedicine Director Earns National Leadership Award

Valley Health’s Telemedicine Director Earns National Leadership Award

Aubrey Presha, director, Telemedicine, has received the Teladoc Health Forum 2023 Transformational Leadership Award.

This award is presented annually at Teledoc Health’s Forum event to individuals who are “driving the adoption of virtual care through bold leadership and an unwavering commitment to excellence, transforming healthcare delivery and improving outcomes.”

Aubrey joined Valley Health in 2020 as the first Director of Telemedicine. The timing was perfect, since Valley Health was rapidly implementing telemedicine platforms due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the beginning of Aubrey’s tenure, Valley Health has expanded its digital health footprint. Our partnership with Teledoc Health allows providers to use an advanced and highly-reliable virtual care platform in their everyday practice.

Under Aubrey’s leadership Valley Health has deployed over 100 virtual care locations, stabilized our existing telemedicine platforms, identified partners to integrate with Epic, and created an easy-to-use platform for patients and providers.

Aubrey has worked in health care for 31 years, first as a scrub tech, before moving toward IT. He quickly discovered a passion for health care administration.

“I chose Valley Health because it was the perfect opportunity to collaborate with others to build a hybrid approach to extending our care providers’ reach and increase access to care,” Aubrey said. “When I met Chris Rucker (chief strategy officer and chief of staff), I was drawn to his developmental leadership style.”

The effort to keep evolving Valley Health’s telemedicine is ongoing. Post-pandemic, Aubrey said work continues toward strategic alignment.

“Before, we had multiple lanes, now we have a brand new platform that contributes to exceptional patient care. We are looking at additional streamlining, more consistency, less friction and frustration. We want to bring stability to the virtual care environment, and working with our clinical and administrative leaders, we assembled a best in class platform for the future.”

Excellent work, Aubrey! Congratulations on this well-deserved national accolade.
