What do you like about working with family? Working so closely with my family is comforting, even if I don’t see them every day.
Why did you choose Valley Health? My Mom! I think she kind of led the way for us all!

What do you like about working with family? It is very comforting to me to have them all around. Family is the most important thing to me. My husband and I recently downsized and relocated to be closer to our daughter in our retirement (whenever that happens), but in the process, we moved farther away from my son and daughter-in-law and our grandchildren! But just knowing that some of them are always here in the building every day is very comforting! You spend so much of your life at work, so it helps to have family and work in the same place.
Why did you choose Valley Health? VHS didn’t exist in 1980 when I started work at Winchester Memorial Hospital at the Cork Street site. And I feel very much like we chose each other. We’ve taken care of each other over the past 40+ years, through a lot of ups and downs! I was 20 years old and what a wild ride it’s been! Nursing has been a great career and something I knew that I wanted from childhood.

What do you like about working with family? We don’t get to see each other very often outside of work hours, so it’s nice to get to say hi in passing.
Why did you choose Valley Health? I love having a job where I’m supported and feel like I’m helping others.
