A Valley Health Family: David, Kelly and Adam Lorfink

We like to think of Valley Health as one large family, and nothing personifies that more than when family members and couples choose to work together in our health system. This week we highlight three family members and why they choose to work at Valley Health, ultimately serving our community by improving health.

Kelly Lorfink

What do you like about working with your family?

I enjoy knowing we are all working together for the same goal of providing the best care for patients and representing Valley Health well to the community. I am very proud of my husband and son and the work they contribute to Valley Health.

Why did you choose Valley Health?

We were new to the area and I had wanted to be in the healthcare field, and my research led me to Valley Health as a great place to work. After experiencing the Valley Health culture, I strongly encouraged my husband, and later my son, to come to Valley Health. I have had many wonderful experiences here over the years and wanted them to enjoy that same supportive work environment.

David Lorfink

What do you like about working with your family?

I enjoy working close within the same entity for peace of mind knowing that we work for an established part of the community that considers its employees as part of the team and focuses on safety for everyone who walks through the Valley Health doors— whether it be a patient, a visitor or an employee.

Why did you choose Valley Health?

We chose Valley Health due to our family being fairly new to the area when my wife became the first to be employed by Valley Health. Her experience with Valley Health was one where the company cared about its people and their families, focusing on a good quality of life to work ratio that benefitted our family. We wanted to be a part of that healthy environment.

Adam Lorfink

What do you like about working with your family?

I love working near family because it brings us a sense of closeness while we carpool and get the same lunches. I work in the same building as my dad so I like when coworkers recognize me as my father’s son.

Why did you choose Valley Health?

I chose to work at VHS because I always have wanted to help people, and where better to do so than healthcare.
