About
Kevin Hicks, MD, is a board-certified specialist in Rheumatology. He completed his undergraduate education at Harvard University, followed by medical school at Howard University College of Medicine. Dr. Hicks credits his career path interest in rheumatology to the experience of providing care for his grandmother after her knee replacement surgery. He completed his internship and residency through Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Hicks worked as an internist for five years after completing his medical training. During this period, he learned that a medical provider must consider a multitude of factors to provide optimal care for patients. He later completed his fellowship in rheumatology at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.
In patient care, his focus is to make sure his patients have a voice in their care, giving them time in the treatment planning process to share their thoughts and concerns. He is grateful for the opportunity to provide care for community members in the greater Winchester area.
