About
Dr. Emmanuel Ekanem is a cardiac electrophysiologist with board certifications in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and internal medicine. He joined Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine | Valley Health from Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where he completed two years of sub-specialty training in cardiac electrophysiology.
He has a special interest in the management of heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular tachycardia (VT) and premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), device implantation including defibrillators, transvenous and leadless pacemakers as well as left atrial appendage closure.
Dr Ekanem has been involved in and led global clinical trials with new cutting edge technologies for the management of cardiac arrhythmias. He is passionate about clinical care and establishing a therapeutic partnership with his patients to improve their quality of life. He is happy to be back in Virginia, which his family calls home, with his wife and two children. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family and playing sports.
