About
Dr. Lam is an interventional spine care specialist who is passionate about improving his patients’ quality of life by using evidence-based medicine approach to painful spine conditions. Dr. Lam specializes in image-guided, minimally invasive procedures, offering his Valley Health Interventional Pain Specialists patients a variety of techniques to treat back pain, neck pain, spinal fractures, and other painful spinal conditions such as arm and leg pain from spinal stenosis or disc herniation, as well as spine pain mimickers such as hip pain.
Dr. Lam is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine, and then stayed at the University of Rochester to complete his residency training, serving as chief resident in his final year. He subsequently completed a nationally recognized fellowship at Virginia I-Spine Physicians, in Richmond.
As a first generation college graduate in his family, Dr. Lam saw first-hand how back/neck pain and sciatica resulting from job-related manual labor affected the lives of those around him. Those experiences, as well as early exposure to the interventional spine specialty in medical school, led him to this exciting field of medicine. His procedures not only treat pain, but also can improve the everyday lives of his patients, a goal Dr. Lam is especially passionate about.
